foremost painters of Western scenes, Robert Summers is also well known as
a sculptor of national repute.
Trail Drive
The artist was chosen by the Dallas Trees and Parks Foundation to create
a monumental bronze sculptural group comprised of 40 longhorn steers
and three horses and riders on a 19th century trail drive. The
project, called "Trail Drive" was completed in 1997 and attracts hundreds
of visitors each day.
Tom Landry
The artist sculpted a
150% size bronze of Coach Tom Landry of the Dallas Cowboys. The statue
is located at Texas Stadum in Irving Texas.
John Wayne
The artist sculpted a
nine-foot tall bronze of John Wayne for a California memorial. The commission
followed the rapid sell-out of a John Wayne bust which the artist had begun
prior to the actor’s death. Mr. Summers had planned for one of the
limited edition bronze busts to be a gift to the Duke, who was a major influence
in the artist’s boyhood interest in Western America.

Nelson for the Byron Nelson Golf Course
Texas Legacy

of Waco Texas and early Texas pioneer as a Bicentennial project for the
